Amidst all of the dance competitions, April 21st to be exact, Nicolle turned 11 years old. We have a tradition of taking the kids to lunch for their birthdays so Jaxson, Alexa and I went and snuck her out of school. On our way to McDonald's (Nicolle's choice) we drove by Linda and stopped to invite her to go with us. She drives a yellow convertible VW bug and Nicolle conned her into taking her back to school in the bug with the top down. Since Grandma never tells her grand kids no, off they went in style!
The only thing Nicolle could think of that she wanted for her birthday was new shoes...for playing and for looking cute! So after school we snuck Mark away from work and the 7 of us went to Idaho Falls for a short shopping trip and dinner at Sizzler (again, Nicolle's choice!)
The day after Nicolle's birthday we had all of Mark's family over for dinner and cake and ice cream to celebrate. Why do everything in one day when you can stretch the party out longer!!!! Nicolle's favorite is spaghetti so that is what I made! It must have tasted O.K. because 16 of us ate almost 3 pounds of pasta and 80 meatballs. And half of those 16 people were kids 12 and under!
